27th November Olive and Jade Class Blog

This week...

We are continuing our project Machines and the children will be investigating which cars go the furthest down a ramp and they are starting to predict and also explain the reasons for the results. The children will also have a go at dancing like robots using mechanical movements.

The stories this week are all about developing the children's emotional literacy so they will hear The Boy with the Big Feelings, Extraordinary, Visiting Feelings, In my Heart, I'm Special, I'm Me, The Boy Who Loved Everyone, Sometimes I feel... and Feelings.

In Phonics the Reception children are learning about how often the y at the end of words can make the ee sound and the Year 1s are learning about long vowels and the magic e.

We will be continuing to hear the children read and they will do their story scribes.

In maths we are really focussing on how 5 is made up and becoming really familiar with all the combinations.

We are also practising our nativity show so we are ready for the big performance the week after next! Hence why there is not so much project and maths happening this week!
