This week...

This week we are busy refining our nativity performance and we can tell the children with lines have been practising hard at home. The singing is getting better and better too!

In between rehearsals we are continuing with phonics and this week EYFS are learning about the short vowels whereas the Year 1s are learning about the magic e.

We are also completing maths assessments, phonic checks and writing assessments over the next two weeks so we will not be hearing the children read this week or completing story scribes. You might find that there are not as many photos on tapestry at the moment as we are trying to complete the assessments as quickly as possible. These assessments are to record what the children have learnt and retained this term since they started in September and, it is amazing to see with the children we've worked with so far, that they have remembered a lot so well done to the children and for your support helping with the practising at home.

In Maths we are continuing to look at how we make 5 and we are also learning how a number in a group can change when things are added or taken away.

We are recapping the school vision 'Learn to be happy, be happy to learn' and reading the book Joy. We will talk about what makes us happy and also what we have learnt.
