Construction Site Visit to Acle Co-op and Morrisons Daily

Our Year 10 and 11 Construction students recently visited Acle Co-op to deepen their understanding in preparation for their upcoming Unit 3: Construction in Design assessment.

As part of the task, students have been challenged to design a mini convenience store for a new housing estate. During the visit, they were given exclusive behind-the-scenes access to explore how the Co-op is laid out and how it incorporates sustainability features into its design.

Students also visited Morrisons Daily, where they observed a plot similar in size to the one they’ll be designing for. The staff were incredibly welcoming, even providing everyone with a complimentary packet of crisps and bottle of water.

The final stop was another Co-op store located near a new housing estate, giving students valuable insight into how retail buildings can complement and enhance their local surroundings.

Overall, the trip provided an excellent opportunity for students to gather inspiration and practical knowledge to help them succeed in their upcoming assessment.
