Black History Month Competition

This year, our Black History Month competition invited pupils to create something that celebrates black people who have stood firm in power and pride through their work and life experiences.
We received so many incredible entries — each one showing deep thought, creativity, and a genuine appreciation for the achievements and resilience of inspirational black figures. Every pupil who entered received PRIDE points and a small prize, and we are so proud of everyone who took part!
A huge congratulations to our three winners:
Georgia (Year 7) – for her powerful poster about author Malorie Blackman, highlighting why she perfectly embodies this year’s theme of Pride and Power.
Stanley (Year 7) – for his fantastic stop-motion animation about Jesse Owens, showing why he remains such an inspirational figure.
Joseph (Year 7) – for his beautiful mural of Lewis Hamilton, complete with thoughtful explanations of his role as a positive and determined role model.
We are incredibly proud of how our students have embraced this opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate black history.
Your creativity and enthusiasm truly reflect our school’s core values of respect and hard work. Well done to everyone involved!
