Celebrating National Recognition for Promoting Positive Masculinity

On Tuesday, 24th June, Mrs Watts, Mrs Jacotine, Mr Lottering, Freya, and Micky travelled to London to receive a national award from the charity Tender, recognising the collaborative efforts of Acle Academy and St William's Primary School in promoting positive masculinity through a joint project.

They were joined at the ceremony by Mrs Shirras and Mrs Buxton, the Headteacher and Executive Head of St William’s Primary School, respectively.

The prestigious award ceremony featured powerful and inspiring speeches from notable figures, including:

  • Jack Thorne, writer of Adolescence
  • Jess Phillips, Minister for Safeguarding
  • Nazir Afzal OBE, former Chief Crown Prosecutor
  • Dan Snow, author and broadcaster
  • Tiernan Brady, Global Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Clifford Chance
  • Jodie Whittaker, actress
  • Olivia Colman, actress and patron of Tender

Acle Academy was honoured to receive the final award of the evening, presented by Olivia Colman herself, who expressed heartfelt enthusiasm and support for the schools' work.

Attendees also had the opportunity to view entries from the #WhatLoveLooksLike competition, including impressive submissions from some of our own students.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and remain committed to promoting healthy relationships and positive masculinity. We look forward to continuing our impactful partnership with Tender in the future.
