Year 6 Transition

This page provides useful information for current Year 6 students who will be starting Year 7 at Alderman Peel High School.

TRANSITION DURING LOCKDOWN

We understand that the transition from primary to secondary school can be a very stressful time both for parents/carers and students. We now have the added stress of the effects of Covid-19. Schools are currently closed to the majority of students until further notice. However, the transition team are still working hard to ensure that this year's Year 6 cohort has a smooth transition.

We usually offer a range of open evenings in the summer term for parents/carers and students to attend. We are keeping a close eye on the ever-changing government guidelines; if dates need to be changed or postponed, we will keep parents/carers up to date through this page and via email (where an email address has been obtained). Transition week is incredibly successful and enables students from primaries to have a real taste of secondary school life. We are hoping that this will still go ahead; if not, we will endeavour to do something similar in September.

Currently, the only thing we are asking parents/carers to complete is the Admissions Pack. These were posted just before the school closures occurred, so all parents/carers should have received them already. Please complete the Admissions Pack and either post it to the school or email it to: office@aldermanpeel.norfolk.sch.uk

At Alderman Peel High School we pride ourselves on our personal approach to transition, and we are doing our best to ensure that we are available to answer all queries regarding transition.
