the children might have told you that they have started practising the songs for our Nativity show. They are learning them quite quickly so hopefully we'll be amazing in time for the perfomances. You don't need to worry about costumes as we have these all in school. There may be a few lines to practise but we will send them home nearer the time. 

In Project we are looking at how a street has changed through time and seeing what differences and similarities we can see. We are also going to have a go at using the programmable toys to follow a route that the children have made. We are going to look at other countries and notice what is different to where we live. 

In phonics EYFS children are learning ch, sh, th/th, qu and ou (out). The Year 1s are learning about the short vowel sounds and ck. 

The children are continuing to do their story scribes and act them out and Year 1s are writing a sentence daily and practising their cvc word writing. They are all doing letter formation practice every day as well as squiggle while you wiggle. All children will also have their normal daily story where the adult in class shares a story. 

In Maths the children are learning about the number 5. We will look at a 5p coin and a pentagon too. We will be focussing on all the different ways we can make 5 and learning about the addition and subtraction facts for 5. They are learning to use their fingers to show the pairs of numbers that go together to make 5 and using this knowledge to find the subtraction facts too. 

  

We will do lots of sorting with numbers 1 - 5 and putting the numbers in the right order. This is so the children gain a really good knowledge of numbers to 5. We will also look at the different patterns we can make with 5 on a ten frame. This can also help the children spot subtraction facts. 

                                      

All of the children have had their mindfulness )DOTS) session and they will have their yoga session later in the week. 

In RSHE we are talking about families and how all families are different but there might be similarities. In RE we are learning more about special people. 

Friday is Children in Need day and the children can wear spots for a donation of £1 towards charity.
