Progress 8 shows the progress students make during secondary school across a range of 8 subjects. A school will receive a Progress 8 score of 0.0 if all students make the same progress as the national average. Schools have been measured on Progress 8 since 2015.

Attainment 8
Attainment 8 is a score of how well our students have performed in a range of 8 subjects (including English, Maths, Science, History or Geography and a modern foreign language).

English Baccalaureate
The English Baccalaureate (EBacc) is a set of GCSE subjects. Secondary schools are measured on the number of pupils that take GCSEs in these core subjects. The government’s ambition is to see 75% of pupils studying the EBacc subject combination at GCSE by 2022, and 90% by 2025. The 5 pillars of the EBacc are:
- English Language and Literature
- Mathematics
- The Sciences
- Geography or History
- 1 Language
